Prolepatriotism

Tonight Mellencamp played live for the Walter Reed medical Center. I was lucky enough to see it through HD Net. Mellencamp is one of those rare Prolepatriots who can capture that often neglected ‘common man’ narrative of America.

I remember as a teenager with little or no interest in politics listening to the truthiness of Scarecrow on a Wooden Cross. While Reagan was screwing the farmers in rural Wisconsin, he also took away our monthly brick of cheese and powdered milk.
